ABC7 Los Angeles News Team paid Lewis Elementary School a visit on Thursday, August 29, 2013. Lewis ES suffered major damage to the main building and classrooms, as a result of last weekends storms. The school will be partially closed for the next 6-8 weeks while repairs are made. An outpouring of Fort Irwin NTC community and military support helped Silver Valley USD get past some major initial hurdles. The support still continues, and Silver Valley USD is so very proud and grateful for the families, command and soldiers at Fort Irwin NTC! Thank you so very much for everything you have done and continue to do for us and the children!!!
