Rik Orrmins
Mr. Orrmins is a 6th grade teacher and has been at Silver Valley Unified for the last 15 years. For twelve of these years he has taught all the core subject within 6th grade. The last three years in the district he was a 5th grade teacher. How a child develops has always fascinated Mr. Orrmins, which can be seen in his own formal education. He received an Associated Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor of Arts degree is Social Science, and a Masters of Education in Child Development. He uses his experience and knowledge to help his students transit from Elementary School to Middle School.
In the 22 years before coming to Silver Valley, he was able to fit nine summers of experience as a Wild-land Fire Fighter, one year as a U.S. Border Patrol Agent, and nine years as a Counselor in a group home for troubled teens. His favorite all time job was as a Preschool Teacher because he go to hop and skip around like a 4 year old.
