I do give homework…just not everyday. I feel that completing tasks such as homework/class work inside the classroom is far more effective. My reason for this is that this way I can evaluate the students’ progress so I know if I need to re-teach a certain lesson or move forward with academic progression. A student who is here during school hours seems to have his or her brain in school mode as opposed to when they’re at home and thinking or doing other things. From my experience homework is a dying art because students feel that outside of school hours homework is but an after thought.
