Do you qualify for a diploma under new state law?

Effective January 1, 2016, Senate Bill 172, suspends the administration of CAHSEE for 2015-2016, 2016-17 and 2017-18 school years. The law required that schools grant a diploma to any pupil who completed grade twelve in the 2003–04 school year or a subsequent school year and met all applicable graduation requirements other than the passage of the high school exit examination. Barstow Unified School District (BUSD) will comply with the law and issue diplomas to those eligible.

Please complete the form below and submit with a copy of your photo ID in person or by email to mariaeulalia_nunez@busdk12.com. Please allow five business days for BUSD to verify your eligibility. You will be notified by phone or email if eligible and when transcripts are ready. In person request can be made at:

If you wish to receive a diploma, BUSD will make the diploma available no later than June 15, 2016. Requests must be received by May 20, 2016. Please indicate on the form below if that is your desire and the method you wish to use to retrieve the diploma.
