| What Are Supplemental Education Services (SES) ? |
Supplemental educational services (SES) are additional academic instruction provided outside of the regular school day and designed to increase the academic achievement of students attending schools in Program Improvement (PI) Years 2 through 5. SES, or free tutoring, must be high quality, research based, and specifically designed to increase student academic achievement. Eligible students are all low-income students who attend Title I PI Years 2 through 5 schools. Supplemental Educational Services are designed to assist and support your student’s effort to meet state academic standards for reading & mathematics.

Only students who attend Barstow Junior High School, Cameron Elementary, Henderson Elementary and Montara Elementary are eligible for free Supplemental Education Services (tutoring) with Barstow Unified School District in the 2015-16 school year.
Deadline to apply for Supplemental Education Services is

Parents are invited to the SES Provider Fair to meet with providers and discuss their students needs before submitting an application form with their top 3 provider choices.

Parents who are unable to attend the provider fair can review the SES Provider Catalog at the top of the page, when available, in order to make a provider selection for their student. Download the application and return to school site or district office.
If your student or your students school does not qualify for SES, please contact your students teacher for information on any after school tutoring programs offered directly by your school.

Providers must have turned in a completed intent to the district within 10 days of being sent the notification of second SES fair to be sent a contract to provide services to BUSD students. BUSD strives to give parents/guardians quality and as many tutoring options as possible; however, we want to protect our families and children and must required rigorous safety and administration procedures for our potential SES providers.
